I will be discussing and reviewing Beethoven’s 5th Piano Concerto, also known as “The Emperor”. In 1812, three months after the premiere, the first performance was in Vienna, Australia. This concerto consisted of three movements that keep the audience on their toes through out this 40-minute piece. Historical background is also a big part of how this became Beethoven’s most popular concerto. Although, this type of music is not as popular today, it is still performed and listened to by a selective audience. Extending your knowledge about the historical background, may clear up questions as to why this piece is well cherished and still listened to today.
